Book Club Extra: Favorite Myths
We thought it might be fun to start a series of bookish discussions related to the books I’ve been reading. Each week we’ll be discussing a topic related to one of the books reviewed on the blog, sharing our thoughts and asking you for yours!
This week I reviewed Brodi Ashton’s Everneath and the discussion point for this week’s episode is: What are some of our favorite classical myths?
Or download it from here: Book Club Extra 006 – Greek Myths and Legends

One of the reasons I really like the show Xena is the incorporating of so many different types of mythologies and religions. People laugh at me for watching the show, but it’s always fascinating to me to see how people rework myths and stories to make them fit in with an alternative universe. Or even Warehouse 13 where they go and find all these really cool artifacts and explain the myths behind them. For example in one episode they use the wings of Daedalus to fly toward the sun to escape imprisonment. I love that!
I love Xena and Hercules so no laughter here! I love modernization and adaptations of classic stories
I need to watch more Warehouse 13!
The interpersonal relationships on Warehouse 13 are always interesting and the use of the artifacts imaginative. It can be a bit campy, but no more so than Xena and Hercules.
Oh so difficult to pick a favorite myth for me! They are fun to read, I loved getting your picks in this audio!
This was a really fun one to do and *geek* out about!
Pandora is one of my absolute favourite myths, love your commentary on the different aspects of human emotions and faults. It’s interesting to hear about Narcissus, he’s one of the myths you tend to forget about
I did a bunch of paintings in college based around Pandora..I should post that some of them sometime! LOL I love the word narcissism it sounds like what it means LOL
