Blurb:

Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath. Now she’s returned–to her old life, her family, her boyfriend–before she’s banished back to the underworld . . . this time forever. She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can’t find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.

Nikki longs to spend these precious months forgetting the Everneath and trying to reconnect with her boyfriend, Jack, the person most devastated by her disappearance–and the one person she loves more than anything. But there’s just one problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who enticed her to the Everneath in the first place, has followed Nikki home. Cole wants to take over the throne in the underworld and is convinced Nikki is the key to making it happen. And he’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back, this time as his queen.

As Nikki’s time on the Surface draws to a close and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she is forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole’s queen.

Everneath is a captivating story of love, loss, and immortality from debut author Brodi Ashton.

This week I sat down with my husband to record some audio comments about this book. As usual we have tried to avoid giving away spoilers about this story!

  1. Undoubtedly this is my favourite review from you. I think you capture everything about Everneath and the vivid red colours look awesome. You are most definitely right about the love triangle and like you, Cole was creeping into my heart. Jack just wasn’t enough for me.

I literally ADORE your drawing of her dress, it just looks fabulous.

Awesome review! :) And, I’m glad you managed to enjoy Everneath so much. Are you intending to read the sequel shortly?

    • YAY! Thank you! I really LOVED this book and I am really jazzed because I found out Brodi Ashton is coming to a bookstore near to me and I am going to try to get my copy signed! Cole is awesome..he is snarky and funny..smart..he is awesome! Though I admit to liking the edgier characters more!
Thank you that was my favorite bit to draw!
I am reading it right now I couldn’t resist!

      • Oooh, lucky you! That’s so awesome.

Ahhh, I need to get my hands on a copy of it. I think the wait I’ve had has lessened my edge, but I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the second novel.

Cole is definitely snarky and edgy, there is so much to love about the edgier character you are right!

  2. You know, I bought Everneath probably close to a year ago, eager to read it. But then, I just never did. Now I am kind of nervous to read it, which makes no sense at all. I should just find the time, sit down, and open the book.

I’m glad you liked it. :)

  3. I actually thought about reading this one as part of my Mythology Week, but ultimately went with Fury instead. I do plan on reading Everneath this year, though, as it’s one of the books for my TBR Pile challenge!

    Great review!

  4. Lovely drawings as usual! The audio was very interesting as well – the concept of the story is very different from what I was expecting! Not sure if I would really love it, but I’m glad that it did something so different from the myth!

  8. Your drawings are so awesome! I can’t remember if I had commented on this or not. ha ha! I’ve been thinking about reading this for awhile. The dress on the cover totally has my full attention! ha ha! Plus, it’s on mythology – YAY! I need to do a refresher on mythology before I dive into any books tho. I can’t remember half the stories… I will def have to check this out!
