Picture Me Reading Roundup: Weekly Highlights and Coming Soon/Stacking The Shelves (13)

Weekly Highlights: It’s been a great week for keeping to my bookish resolutions! Hoorah! I am proud to say I read four books on my to read list and started two more. I am not including the short stories I read for Project Fairytale
Any new books I have procured from either netgalley or the library. I also posted every day this week and kept to my blogging schedule. So hopefully I will continue to work ahead but for now I am proud of myself.
There are a few things I have signed up for as well, The Classics Projects that is being hosted by The Cheap Reader will be at the beginning of next year. I am one of the co-hosts and I will be in charge of the GOTHIC section naturally ;> I am very excited because as you know I love the classics and love reading retellings of them. Stay tuned in the next few months for details. I will be designing some cool banners for it!
As well I am going to collaborate with The Hopeful Heroine on From Book To Movie, we will link to each others reviews and sometimes post on the same day our thoughts on new movies based on books. If anyone wants to join in and is willing to collaborate on a day to all post together/link then we would be glad to have you join us! Our first choice is Warm Bodies!
I am also doing a brand new feature each Saturday: Book Club Extra which features an audio discussion based around a book that I have read that week. In it we discuss a topic that ties into the book I have read/reviewed that week and we suggest books that we enjoyed that relate to that topic.
Also coming up next month is Project Fairytale! I am doing Snow White and Rose Red!
On the blog this week:
Reviews:
Tempestous- This was a retelling of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest.’
Features:
From Book To Movie: Treasure Island
Book Club Extra: Why Retell a Classic Story?
Book Blogger Highlight:

L.K. Hill- Is not only a book blogger but also an author! I just started her book Persistence of Vision and am happy to say so far I am really enjoying it!

I’ve been curious about Origin, so I’m looking forward to your review of it! Changeling was the first Philippa Gregory novel that I read, and I have to say that I wasn’t impressed. I hope that it works out better for you. Have a great week!
I saw the author at a book festival and have been meaning to read it! Ahh okay I will push it down the que then and prioritize other books ! You too!
Origin and Changeling are two books I’ve heard mixed reviews on and something that I am interested in reading myself to finally get around to making my own opinion on them.
Great haul. Happy reading!
Same here, I will check them out to see what I think sometimes I find that I don’t fit the mainstream..a lot of books others love just don’t jive with me for some reason! You too!
Yeah, exactly the same here. Sometimes I don’t understand hype for certain books!
Congrats on reading some book on your TBR pile! I hope that Snow White retellings for a whole month will work out for you!
Oh, I can’t wait to see what you think of Assassin’s Curse! I’ve been really wanting to read the book and it looks so good. And also, I hope you enjoy all your books. ^^
I really enjoyed it, it was a fun read! I am looking forward to posting the review…I am really happy with the art on that one!
Aww, thanks for featuring me! I love talking to you, too.
Origin is on my to-read list, and I have e-galleys of The Assassin’s Curse and Ironskin, both of which I’d like to get to this year, but am not sure I’ll actually manage.
Happy reading!
OOoh very nice!! The fairy tale retelling looks familiar to me! Hope you enjoy all your new reads!
